“To Be Free”, Aladdin: A  Musical Spectacular.

A new song was written for the theme park stage version of Disney’s Aladdin, “To Be Free” was to be Jasmine’s ‘I want’ song. In which she sings about freedom to her birds (think Nicole Kidman’s 'Someday I’ll Fly Away’ from Moulin Rouge). It is rumoured to have been expanded and included in the upcoming Broadway version that is going to be tested out in Denver.

This song, in my opinion, joins the ranks of Quasimodo’s “Out There” and Ariel’s “Part of That World” as great Disney I-want songs about escape and freedom.

Hey guys. GUYS. If any of you live in suburbia with yards and gardens and stuff or have friends or family with same, this is a REALLY GOOD VIDEO to watch. I know it’s long but the speaker is engaging and funny and he presents some very good arguments for simple, attractive landscaping changes that can make significant, positive environmental change. Also there’s a ton of pictures of really neat birds and insects and plants. My mom and I watched this together last night and we are DECIDED, we are gonna try this.
